Aikido is a non-violent, non-competitive martial art that will teach your
child how to blend with and redirect opposing forces. Through smooth,
circular movements, an aikidoist can bring an aggressor under control
while keeping out of harm's way.
Dealing with violence in a calm, non-aggressive manner is at the heart of
Aikido. The children learn that there is a better alternative to fighting.
They learn that their differences can be resolved in a positive way through
cooperation, compromise, and mutual respect. While practicing Aikido as a
self-defense, children will also gain self-confidence, self-respect, and a
path to self-discovery.
Every aspect of life today is influenced by stress, conflict, and aggression.
Aikido provides children with the tools they will need to make more
intelligent and gratifying choices in dealing with these adversities.
Aikido is much more than just another recreational activity. It truly is a
unique method of education. We look forward to sharing this fascinating art
with your child.
